Frances K. Riddle

Frances Koon Riddle passed away on August 16th, 2024. Born on January 21,1944, she was the daughter of the late Claude C. Koon and the late Nellie McCartha Koon of Chapin, SC. She was the younger sister to Carroll Koon (Martha) and older sister to the late Robert Koon. She was preceded by two sister-in-laws, Chrissy Koon and Trudy Koon.
Frances graduated Chapin High School 1962. Frances attended St. Thomas Lutheran Church and later St. Peter Lutheran Church where she met her husband, Louis E. Riddle, still residing in Little Mountain, SC. They were married March 31, 1962.
Frances was blessed with three children: Nelson E. Riddle (Lynn), Marynell R. Wise (Jamie), and Louann R. Cook (Ronnie). Her 3 children then blessed her with 6 grandchildren (Nealon, Ethan, and Weston Riddle, Kendrick (Michelle) and Kelsey Wise, and Drayton Cook. Lastly, she was blessed with 2 great grandchildren (Brooklynn and Wrenlee Wise).
During her younger years, Frances worked in several beauty shops and the GE Plant in Irmo before stopping to raise her family. While raising the family she worked on the family dairy farm until it closed in 1997.
Frances taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She has also cared for several aging relatives and friends as well as a lot of other children who affectionately called her "Granny." Frances enjoyed serving on the Golden Age Committee for many years until becoming a Golden Ager herself.
The family will have family visitation on Monday the 19th at 3:00 p.m., followed by the service at 4:00 p.m., both in the Sanctuary at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 900 Dreher Island Rd., Chapin, SC 29036. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund or St. Peter Lutheran Church Capital Improvement Fund.
