Gary Wayne Davis

Gary Wayne Davis (68), of Lebanon, TN, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at St. Thomas West Hospital, Nashville, TN on January 19, 2024. He was born on December 11, 1955, in Jackson, MS to the late John P. and Doris Coggins Davis of Corinth, MS. Gary attended Corinth Public Schools before graduating from Corinth High School in 1974. For the past 28+ years, he has resided in Lebanon, TN in the Group Home known as the White House owned and operated by the Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes, Inc. He worked for Kroger Corporation for 20+ years and retired in 2020. Gary never met a stranger. He loved his fellow residents & the house parents of the White House, his Church, bowling, fishing, playing video games, coloring and watching Mississippi State sports.
Gary is survived by three brothers, John P. Davis, Jr. of Fredericksburg, TX, Michael A. Davis (Carolyn) of Cordova, TN, and Randle S. Davis (Brenda) of Hendersonville, TN; one sister Charlotte A. Grisham (David) of New Albany, MS; 14 nieces and nephews and 27 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris Davis; his brother, Stephen A. Davis; his sister-in-law, Linda Davis Crocker and one nephew, Corey M. Davis.
A family graveside service will take place on February 3rd at 1:00 in New Albany, MS where Gary will be laid to rest beside his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Lebanon, TN at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tennessee Baptist Adult Homes, Inc. (designated for the White House ministry), 4017 Rural Plains Circle, Franklin, TN 37064, or to a favorite charity in memory of Gary Wayne Davis.
