Genell Johnson

Genell (Blocker) Johnson, 92, of Jessieville, Arkansas passed away September 10, 2023. She was born February 18, 1931 in Cedar Glades, Arkansas to Grover Blocker and Cora (Halsell) Blocker.
Genell was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, and Mamaw. She loved people and never met a stranger. More than anything she loved her family.
Genell had the greenest thumb you ever knew and could make anything grow and turn into a beautiful flower, even if it was dead! She loved potting flowers, tending to her garden and walking around in lakes and creeks collecting rocks. She also enjoyed digging for crystals and would turn many of this finds later into a special arts and craft project....She loved going to Canton, TX to the flea market and making yard sales. Genell was a collector of anything, and if you ever needed something she probably had it.
Genell was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Genell was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Mike Johnson, her parents" father, Grover Blocker; mother, Cora Blocker, her brothers Alton Blocker, Sarvous Blocker and sister Vonise Meredith.
Survivors include her sons Michael Johnson (Tonya) and Dexter Johnson (Debra), 4 Grandsons; Shelby Johnson (Kristi), Christopher Johnson (Jessica), Rocky Johnson (Kristen) and Timothy Johnson (Amber), 10 Great Grandchildren; Arynn, Evan, Caitlyn, Isabella, Calleigh, Andrew Hannah, Cora, Arianna and Levi and 1 Great Great-Grandchild; Landry. Brother; Alvin Blocker and several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 18th at Caruth- Village Funeral Home.
A celebration of Genell's life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 19th at Caruth-Village Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmie Scott officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rock Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Shelby Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Rocky Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Caitlyn Johnson and Andrew Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Village Springs Rehab and Arkansas Hospice.
