Sandra Ann Johansen

Sandra Ann Johansen, 80, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed away October 2, 2025. She was born July 8, 1945 in Le Mars, IA, to Tony Sitzman and Bernice Sitzman.
She married Dean Johansen from Le Mars, IA in 1965, they were happily married for 60 years.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Tony Sitzman; mother, Bernice Sitzman, Brother Russell and sister Beth.
Survivors include her spouse Dean Johansen, Daughter Jocelyn McCorkle (Chris), Grandson Jason, Sister in-law Rhonda Tammen (Rod), Sister in-law Barbara Kowalke (Denny), and many Niece and nephews.
Sandy and Dean attended grade school and high school together, but did not start dating until high school. They were married while in college and have been Village residents for 25 years. Because of Dean's job with the military and retail business, they moved many times. But, Sandy always found an enjoyable job in every place they lived. She taught school, was the consumer advisor for General Motors, specifically the zone office in Houston, Texas for many years. She then helped in the family business before retirement. She has always given her all to the clubs and organizations here in the Village. Her last job and most rewarding for her, was her work as a staff writer for the Village Voice Newspaper.
Everyone remembers that smiling face with a camera around her neck. She loved golfing and participating in the Players productions as an actress, director and producer, She truly loved the Village
Visitation will be 1:00 PM-3:00PM Friday, October 10th, 2025 at Caruth Village funeral home. Located at 4623 N Hwy 7.
The family wishes to extend special thank you's to all the prayers and attention that friends and family have given to Sandy the last few months.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League.
