Gerald Robert Hart

Gerald Robert Hart, of Meadville Went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2023. Gerald was born in Geneva, PA on September 26, 1935, a son of Virgil and Edith Peterson Hart. He married Wynan Mae Scott on August 23, 1953. Wynan passed away on Sept. 10, 2011. Gerald served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 stationed in Hawaii.
Gerald worked for many years at the former David Mead Inn in Meadville, PA as head of maintenance and housekeeping. He also worked for Rusco Windows and Doors in Cochranton, PA, transferring to the Chicago area as an installer. In 1988 he started his career as a U.S. Postal worker, delivering mail in Hinsdale, IL and transferring back to Meadville in 1994 to continue working for the Post Office until his retirement.
Gerald was an avid hunter of whatever was in season. He always had a good hunting story for anyone that was interested.
Gerald is survived by his three daughters, Roberta (Bobbi) Guckert ( Thomas ) of Conneaut Lake, Sandra Gombash of Plano, TX and Patricia (Patti) Hart of Meadville. Four grandchildren, Melissa Baker of Meadville, PA, Michael Baker (Amy) of Lockport, IL, Caitlin Yarborough (Bradley) and Ryan Gombash all of Plano, TX. Seven Great grandchildren, Katie, Maggie, Lizzie, Jack and Atticus Baker, Witten and Brooks Yarborough. A brother Larry Hart (Beverly) of Cochranton, two sisters Betty Mickle and Iris Armburger, a brother in law William Scott all of Meadville. And several nieces and nephews and a long time family friend and hunting buddy Dana Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his in laws, Leroy and Mildred Kingen Scott, his wife of 58 years, an infant daughter, Crystal Lynn, his brother Duane Hart and his wife Marion, two brothers in law, Robert Mickle and William Armburger, two sisters in law, Marsha Scott and Bonnie Cornell.

Visitation will take place at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake, from 4 pm - 7 pm on Wednesday, June 28. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am on Thursday June 29 with Rev. Sarah Roncolato, officiating. Military Honors will be rendered following the service by VFW Post 2006.
Internment will be at Denny Cemetery, Meadville.
