Gladys Kuhlman

Gladys M. Kuhlman, 97, of Owego, NY went home to be with her Lord on Friday January 13, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Otto Kuhlman, and her brother, Lewis, and his wife, Harriet Fraser. She is survived by her children, Philip and Pat Kuhlman, Edward and Gina Kuhlman, Timothy Kuhlman and Donna McCrea, Stephen and Kim Kuhlman, Christopher Kuhlman and Steve Novak; her sisters-in-law, Lottie Kuhlman, Brenda Kuhlman, Ruth VanWinkle; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Gladys was born at home on the day of an ice cream social on May 30, 1925 in Waits, (Owego) NY, the daughter of John and Anna (Moesch) Fraser. She lived in the same home her entire life and carried on her love of ice cream as well! She knew the locations of ice cream shops far and near. After many years of dairy farm life, Otto and Gladys purchased and operated Nichols Florist, then built Tioga Gardens in Owego. It was here that her first granddaughter named her "Grandma Busy". She surely enjoyed the bustle of the family business and family life. Gladys had a strong faith and was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was known for her lovely, gentle spirit with family and friends. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. Full of joy when surrounded by her family, she grew especially excited when she was invited on any trip or adventure, both within the United States and abroad. From going blueberry picking, to a trip to Scotland, she was always ready with her purse in hand.
Family and friends are invited to remember her at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego on Friday January 27, 2023, from 4:00-6:00pm. A Funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 3917 Waverly Rd. Owego, on Saturday January 28, 2023 at 11:00am with Pastor Timm Heath officiating. Interment will be in Babcock Hill Cemetery, Windham, PA. Those wishing to, may contribute to Zion Lutheran Church in memory of Gladys. Please share your memories at www.RichardsFH.com
