Gregory Arnold Bonds was born in Manhattan, New York to his proud parents, Frank and Oceola Bonds on March 26, 1952. He was the oldest of two children.
Gregory graduated from the New York School of Printing in 1970. A few years later, he attended St. Gregory's College in Shawnee, Oklahoma. There, he obtained an Associate Degree in Business Administration. Additionally, Gregory played as the starting guard on the school's basketball team, traveling throughout the country's mid-west competing in various tournaments. After graduating, Gregory returned to New York and worked in the banking industry. Eventually, he transitioned to the cable business working for Paragon/Time Warner Cable Company. Gregory went on to have a successful 30-year career serving as purchasing manager until his retirement in 2011.
On February 6, 1990, Gregory married Roxanne and their union was blessed with their daughter Amber. Gregory was a generous, kind, and loving person willing to help anyone and never ceased the opportunity to make people laugh. He was also an avid sports fan, taking his daughter to various sporting events including the 2001 New York Yankees World Series and the 2018 NCAA Final Four. An active and dedicated dad, Gregory filled in as coach for several of his daughter's childhood sports teams. In his free time, Gregory enjoyed watching Law & Order, building model planes, and playing cards.
Gregory peacefully departed this life on September 5, 2022, to be with his parents, Frank and Oceola. He leaves to mourn and cherish countless fond memories, his devoted wife, Roxanne Smith-Bonds, his daughter, Dr. Amber Bonds, his sister Sharon Terry, his niece Jazmyne Terry-Holley, and grandniece Zoey Holley, along with a host of other loving family and dear friends.
Gregory will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched by his kind heart and wonderful sense of humor.
