Harvey Welch Obituary
Born July 31, 1942, in Coffeyville, KS, he was the son of the late Harvey E. Welch, Sr. and Dorothy Sybil Wood Welch.
Harvey was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed with Lithonia Lighting in Conyers, GA where he not only served as a Vice President but a mentor to many. After retirement, he and his wife relocated to Lake Keowee. He enjoyed boating, tie flying, and antiques. He was a member of the Power Squadron and the Rotary Club of Walhalla. He always enjoyed a good meal but loved his wife Marilyn's cooking more than anything. Harvey loved his family immensely and his children and grandchildren were the joy of his heart. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Marcum Welch; son, Todd Welch; daughter, Jennifer Silvestro (Jeff Blanchard); and grandchildren, Emma Silvestro and Grace Silvestro.
A service with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Chaplain Mike Linkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home, 4605 Belton Hwy., Anderson, SC 29621 or Patriot Hospice, 4741 Hwy. 153, Easley, SC 29642.

Remembering Harvey as a funny, caring gentleman who had a knack for making everyone feel important. I worked with him in the 1980´s at the Hi-Tek facility in Crawfordsville, IN & his smile, jokes & light hearted spirit kept the office atmosphere upbeat. RIP, Harvey, you´ve definitely earned your heavenly reward. Thoughts & prayers for Marilyn, Jennifer, Todd & all of the family

I will always remember Harvey as one of my favorite bosses while working at Lithonia Lighting. He always made time to listen if you ever went to him with a concern. Prayers for Harvey´s family and all that loved him!

Harvey was a true professional leader. His employees respected and trusted him. For several years we talked every work day. What a great guy. I am sad he has passed.
