Howard Craig Sharpe, Jr. died December 5, 2023. He was the only son of Howard and Louise Sharpe of Charlotte, NC. Craig attended Paw Creek Elementary, Coulwood Junior High and graduated West Mecklenburg High School in 1971. After attending Brevard Junior College, he graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 1975 in Belmont, NC. Craig grew up in Moores Chapel Methodist Church and later became a member of Paw Creek Presbyterian Church when his parent moved to Enwood Drive in Coulwood.
Craig was an avid tennis player and played on the West Mecklenburg High School team as well as the team at Brevard College. Tennis continued to be an important part of his life as he spent countless hours working with high school tennis players in the Fort Mill area.
Craig continued the real estate business his dad had started and was involved in many different business endeavors throughout his life time. At one time he was involved in making movies in the Charlotte area and helped to film a horror movie at his home known as the "Sadler Homeplace" on Moore's Chapel Road, an old manner house.
Craig was rich with good, loyal friends and had a soothing manner about him. Always friendly and fiercely loyal to his friends. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Kenneth W. Poe Funeral & Cremation Service, 1321 Berkeley Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28204 (704) 641-7606. Online condolences can be shared at www.kennethpoeservices.com.

Coach Sharpe was a super nice guy and a great coach. He always encouraged others to play tennis and entertained us with stories of what he did earlier in his life. He would always smile every time I see him for tennis and always wanted me to get better and improve. He had nothing but nice things to say about all the other players.
