Jack Clarcq Obituary

Born November 29, 1935 in Rochester, NY, Jack grew up speed skating on the Genesee River. He obtained his Bachelor's degree from SUNY Brockport, Master's degrees from West Virginia University and Cornell University as well as his Doctorate from Syracuse University. Jack spent 45 years as an Administrator and Professor at RIT/NTID. Also, he served for a number of terms on the Victor Central School Board. Outside of his work he enjoyed skiing, reading and writing, visiting his children and grandchildren and spending time with family and friends on Keuka Lake.
A celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 6, at 11 A.M. in the Allen Chapel at RIT located at 40 Lomb Memorial Drive Rochester, NY 14623 [CLICK FOR MAP TO BUILDING]. A luncheon will be held immediately following in the Alumni House at RIT until 3:30 P.M [CLICK FOR MAP TO BUILDING]. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in his memory to: Rochester Institute of Technology, ATTN: Gift Office – Endowment Scholarship, Dr. Jack and Barbara Clarcq, 116 Lomb Memorial Dr. Rochester, NY 14623.

Just learned of Dr. Clarcq's passing. In taking one of his classes (w/Don Flynn) I learned so much about dealing with people as friends and colleagues. Jack made a huge impression on me and others in the class...kind, caring and at times very direct! One of my favorite people. He will be missed.
