On March 23, 2024, we bid farewell to James "Jim" Clifton Conkell after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He will be remembered as an exceptional man who touched the lives of many through his dedication, kindness, and love.
Born on April 23, 1945, in Atlanta, GA, Jim was a beloved son of the community and an integral part of Faith Baptist Church of Kingston, recognized for his unwavering commitment to his faith, family, and friends.
Jim retired from AT&T after 30 years as an engineer. Outside of work, Jim found joy in teaching the Word of God as a Bible Study and Sunday School teacher at Faith Baptist where he shared his wisdom and faith with others for several decades. In addition to teaching the Bible, Jim loved being outdoors and working countless hours maintaining his property.
Jim will be dearly missed by his surviving relatives, including his son John Conkell and niece Chrystle Taylor who will carry on his legacy with love and pride.
To honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Jim Conkell, a graveside service will be held at Peachtree Memorial Park located behind Crowell Brothers Funeral Home Peachtree Corners Chapel, on March 28th, 2024 at 1:00PM.
Please join us in celebrating Jim's homegoing and the legacy he leaves behind.
May he rest in peace.
