James "Jim" Scharpf, age 81 of Huilsburg, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Jim was born on January 26, 1941 to parents Bernice and Clarence Scharpf.
Jim loved his country and always flew the American flag proudly at his home. As an active member of the Army National Guard, and was also employed as a civilian mechanic in which he retired at the age of 60, after 22 dedicated years of work and service. Along with his career as a civilian, he also worked for the City of Hartford providing maintenance of buildings, and upon retiring he took on a summer job position with the Parks and Recreation Center. Jim was a man who enjoyed being outdoors, taking camping trips, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle, and watching his grandkids play soccer. Jim's hobbies included restoring antique tractors, repairing lawn mowers, chainsaws, grass trimmers and even MO-PEDS.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 56 years; cherished children Chad Scharpf, and Eric Scharpf; treasured grandchildren Kaleb, Arizona, and Logan; wonderful daughter-in-law Krista Scharpf; dear siblings Richard (Carol) Scharpf, Donald (Marcia) Scharpf, and Jean Scharpf. Jim is further survived by many other loved relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Bernice; brother Philip Scharpf; and other extended family members such as aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service for Jim will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1: 00p.m at St. Kilian Catholic Church, with Rev. Britto Suresh officiating the Mass. Jim's family will great friends and relatives at the church from 10: 00a.m until the start of Mass. Inurnment is to follow Mass at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with full military honors to occur at the end of the committal.
