Mr. James William Walton, Sr., 70, of Peoria, IL passed away at 2:15 pm on Friday, April 29, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
James affectionally known as "Bubba" was born on February 8, 1952 in Clarksdale, MS to Aaron and Johnella (Loggins) Walton.
Bubba worked at Peoria Housing Authority in maintenance. He was a fun-loving man that would have you laughing and mad at him at the same time. Bubba loved fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a jokester and loved being around family. Bubba would take time out to check on his siblings, family and friends, especially those who had disabilities. He studied the Jehovah Witness Religion.
Bubba leaves to cherish his most precious memories two sons, James Walton, Jr. of Marietta, GA; and Jermaine Walton of Sacramento, CA; two daughters, Sheila Walton of Greenville, SC and Michelle Walton-Jackson of Easley, SC; three brothers, Aaron, Jr. (Linda Williams) Walton of Peoria, IL, Tracy Walton and Alfred Walton both of Clarksdale, MS; two sisters, Gloria Taylor and Louvenia Moore both of Peoria, IL; 12 grandchildren; 3 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Oliver Walton, one sister, Marie McAfee and one grandson, DeMarco Nichols.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Simons Mortuary with a visitation beginning at 9 am. Minister Oscar Wallace of Kingdom Hall will officiate. Bubba will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery.
