Doris was born in Nunda, South Dakota on November 29, 1924, a daughter of the late William Thomas and Julia (Fleming) Caldow. She married Joseph "Joe the Barber" Baumgardner on December 29, 1945, in Peoria. They celebrated 58 years together before Joe passed in 2001.
Doris is survived by their children, Judith (Bill) Uphoff, Michael "Mike" (Marli) Baumgardner, Diane Craps, Cynthia (Brad Quick) Ireland and Janet (Chuck) O'Neill, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 2 sons-in-law and 1 grandson.
Doris worked as a type setter for 23 years at C&H Printing. She was an active long-time member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and the Peoria Elks Emblem Club, being proud to serve and be a past president. She was also active in several golf leagues.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, with a one hour prior visitation. Fr. Bernard Obeng-Gyamfi will officiate and burial of ashes will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Always good times, so sorry to hear your Mother Passed. I believe I last saw her at
My mom's funeral. Don't get back to Peoria much these days.
My heart aches for you all! Loved your mom and your whole family.
