Jamie Wayne Rickmond

Jamie Wayne Rickmond, age 46, was born October 12, 1976, to parents, Susie Rogers (Kenny) and Wayne Rickmond (Sandi).
Jamie was born and raised in Surry County. He retired from the Surry County School System after 20 years of service.
Jamie made a lot of friends and never met a stranger. He was active in sports with Special Olympics and loved to go hunting of any kind with his brother Sam. He was an honorary member of Surry Hunt Club. He especially loved his side by side and gladly would give anyone a ride. His second love was welding and had quite a bit of knowledge of it.
Left to miss him are his parents; sisters, Jennifer Albert (Chad), Monica Buhls (Joey), Amanda Rickmond, Callie Rickmond; brother, Sam Rickmond; niece, Maddy; and nephew, Bentley and Benji.
The family thanks the staff of Promedica Hospice Care from Newport News. They especially want to thank Traci Ratcliff, Jamie's nurse, who brightened his days and gave such good care to him.
A funeral service officiated by Pastor Sam Fryer will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Moore's Swamp Baptist Church, 2300 Runnymede Rd. Elberon, Va. Family will receive friends the evening prior, Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Moore's Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. R.W. Baker & Co.
