James Laine Obituary
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Ellis Laine, and his parents, Walter West and Gladys Laine.
Jimmy is survived by his two sons, Michael and his wife Kim, and Steve and his fiancée Jennifer Patterson; six grandchildren, Austin, Charlie, Ellis, Sally, Sofia, and Shay Kathryn; his sisters, Brenda Watkinson and her husband Wayne, and Nancy Stephenson and her husband Bobby; and his beloved dog, Buck.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Jimmy was also the longtime owner of Wakefield Peanut Company. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as a dedicated member of the Ruritan Club and a faithful member of Wakefield United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in the Wakefield Cemetery. R.W. Baker & Company, Wakefield Chapel, is serving the family. Condolences may be shared at RWBakerFH.com.

I am so sadden to hear about Jimmy's passing. I've known him most of my life & he was such a wonderful person. Working at Cobbs during peanut season was a delight because he kept it running smoothly & looked after the inspectors. I know his family will miss him & Sue. May the Lord hold you in his loving embrace.
