Juanita Torres aka Janie Torres
Janie was christened San Juana Casanova Torres when she was born. Born in Lubbock, Texas on June 13, 1951. She was 73 years of age at the time of her demise.
She was born into a large family. The total family members in her immediate family was 16, including parents. Her father was Domingo G. Torres, and her mother was Julia Casanova Torres.
Although she had several serious relationships, she never legally married. She is survived by her adopted daughter Angelica Brito who lives out of state.
Preceded in death by both parents, one sister (Virginia T. Venable) and two brothers (Fernando C. Torres and Domingo C. Torres, Jr.) Surviving siblings are: Quirino Torres (Idaho) Marisela Salazar (Arizona), Sandra Jimenez (California), Rojelio Torres (Idaho), Roberto Torres (New Mexico), Maria de Lourdes Torres (Utah), Marinacia Torres (Arizona), Maxsimo C. Torres, MD (Texas) and Jose Trinidad Torres (Texas).
Janie was the rebellious one of the family. She was a beautiful free spirit who as an adult moved from state to state looking for greener pastures and better opportunities. Because of her gypsy lifestyle, she came upon many difficult times, however, maintained a positive attitude throughout her entire life. She was a re-born Christian who believed in the Trinity.
A private family viewing was held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St, Ogden UT 84403 on January 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM
