Robert Lee Howe Jr. passed away July 1, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. He was born November 18, 1965, to Robert Lee Howe and Carolyn Mansfield in Ogden, Utah and spent most of his childhood there. He was a loving child, full of fun and mischief, fiercely loyal and caring to those he was close to. He graduated from Weber High School. He married Barbara Jean Shivers on April 27, 1991, and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Emily Ann and Hailie Kay. They later divorced. He married Mary Saunders in January 2017; they were later separated.
Rob worked as a wildland fire fighter with the "Flame-n-Go's Hotshots. He was a brick mason and stucco worker. He loved to go goldmining with his dad and collect scrap copper. He was very handy and could fix almost anything. He loved spending time with his daughters, his grandson Maxx, his extended family and his loving puppies Josie, Pumpkin and Evie. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his dad Bob's truck and listening to Rock and Roll "If it's too loud, you're too old!" He had a long obsession with birds of prey, always admiring them in the wild and calling himself "FreeBird", a nickname that stuck.
He is survived by his daughters, Emily Ann Howe and Hailie Kay Howe. His grandson Maxx, and sisters Shauncey Simpson, Cody Christensen, and Faith Ann Wells and a brother, Jonathan Howe. His aunties Laura Hunt and Jody Moran, Uncle Dennis Mansfield and many nieces, nephews, close cousins and friends.
Rob lived his life on his terms, free and uninhibited. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for close family and friends.
Fly free, Freebird. We'll be watching for you in the skies
