Steven J. Tippets

Steven J. Tippets, born on September 10, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, completed his earthly journey on July 9, 2025. Steve was an incredible man, known for his dependable nature, heartfelt dedication, and courageous spirit.
He married Vicki Zweifel in the Salt Lake Temple on November 20, 1970. Together, they raised their children in North Ogden and later made their home in Pleasant View. Steve touched the hearts of many with his kind and thoughtful ways. His love for Vicki and their family was deep and enduring.
A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Steve served faithfully in many callings throughout his life. He served a two-year proselyting mission in the Northern States Mission, which remained a highlight for him. He often shared stories and lessons from that time, and the experience shaped and helped maintain his lifelong testimony. He served in the United States Navy and proudly served his country. He developed the skills and gained knowledge in the electrical trade. He was a Journeyman Electrician, a member of the IBEW, and instructed their apprenticeship program for many years. As the Electrical Manager at Weber State University, he exemplified hard work, leadership, and integrity. After retiring, he continued to share his passion for the electrical trade by teaching at Ogden-Weber Technical College. He was a man who never gave up, rarely took a break, and found joy in lifting and inspiring those around him.
Steve loved the outdoors-especially fishing and boating. He cherished time spent with his children and absolutely adored his 14 grandchildren: Easton (Elena), Eden, Ethan, and Elle Tippets. Tyler and Owen Tippets. Brinsen (Lauren), Maci, Korbin, Laini, and Jantzen Rackham. Carsen, Hailey, and Isabelle Bradford.
He is survived by his loving wife Vicki, and their children: Jeff (Tiffany) Tippets, Nate (Gina) Tippets, Melissa (Joel) Rackham, and Heather (Keith) Bradford. He is also survived by his brother, Dean (Lona) Tippets, and his sister, Ilene Tippets. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Ila Tippets.
His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy of love, service, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 pm, and on Monday, July 21, from 10:00–10:30 am, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 East 2850 North, North Ogden, UT.
