Roy Dee Tippets passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in his hometown of
Ogden, Utah, at the age of 66. Born on July 12, 1958, to Gene W. Tippets and Vera Mae Atkinson, Roy was a lifelong resident of the Ogden area, where he was a beloved member of the community and a cherished brother, uncle, and friend.
Roy was a proud student of Ogden City Schools, having walked the halls of Ben Lomond High School before venturing into the world of machinery. His dedication to his craft earned him a license as a machinist, a title he bore with honor and distinction. Roy's professional life was characterized by his tenure in construction and his meticulous work as a tool setter. His commitment to excellence in his field was evident to all who worked alongside him. He also worked at Parker Hannifin, Eddy Shaw Construction, Ogden City and Roy City.
Despite the demands of his career, Roy always found time for the great outdoors. He loved to fish, hunt, and was an enthusiastic hiker. His love for nature was infectious, and he often shared his passion with those around him, creating lasting memories on the rivers, in the forests, and along the mountain trails of Utah. Roy enjoyed adventuring to Wyoming and Nevada to Gamble. He also made small trips to Snowbird and Park City to spend time with Family.
Those who knew Roy would describe him as the epitome of friendliness, wisdom, and love. His warm demeanor and sage advice left a profound impact on everyone he met. Roy's presence was a source of comfort and joy to his family and friends, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Roy is preceded in death by his father, Gene W. Tippets; his mother, Vera Mae Atkinson; his brothers Larry L. Tippets and Brent C. Tippets; and his sister, Faye Tippets. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion, which will be carried on by his surviving brother, Dale G. Tippets of Washington; his sister, Luanne Huntington (Mark) of Layton; sister-in-law, Katie Tippets of Roy; his niece, Erin Tippets; and his nephews, Morgan Tippets, Nick Huntington, Logan Huntington, Benjamin Huntington, and Caleb Huntington.
Roy's life was one of dedication-to his family, his work, and his interests. The lessons he taught, both directly and through the example he set, will endure in the lives of those he touched. His spirit, characterized by the quiet strength of the mountains he so loved, will continue to inspire those who remember him.
As we bid farewell to Roy Dee Tippets, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared with him. We will cherish the memories, hold dear the moments of laughter and camaraderie, and strive to embody the qualities that Roy exemplified so effortlessly. He was a beacon of light in the lives of many, and his influence will remain a guiding force for generations to come.
Roy's journey through this life has concluded, but his story will be told time and again through the lives of those he influenced. He has left an indelible mark on this world, and though he has departed from our sight, he will never be absent from our hearts. Rest in peace, Roy. Your legacy lives on.
