FORT ASHBY, WV – Kenneth "Dale" Chase, Jr., of Fort Ashby, WV, passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 62.
Born on October 15, 1961, he was a son of the late Kay Chase and Kenneth Chase, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his aunt and uncle who helped raise him, Ruth and Herb Baker.
After graduating from Frankfort High School in 1979, Dale worked at Bayliner and Ratcliff's Market. From there he spent 19 years at Dawnview Nursing Home as maintenance manager. In most recent years he was employed at Wayne's in Fort Ashby. These jobs gave him lifelong connections and friendships with many people in the community.
Dale never met a stranger. He would go out of his way to help anyone, especially the elderly. His vocabulary consisted mainly of "yes, ma'am"s and "no, sir"s. He took pride in his small town of Fort Ashby, WV, where he was raised and continued to reside in his adult life. He enjoyed all the things outdoors, especially hunting. In the fall, he could often be found in the woods or in front of the TV watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dale will be remembered for his kindness and compassion toward others. He was always quick to offer a helping hand and never expected a thank-you in return.
Dale is survived by his children, Tyler Chase (Trish Root) and Kaytlyn Bosley (Josh); siblings, Kathy Dicker (Brian), Kevin Chase (Christine), and Karen Horton (Dave). He will also be deeply missed by many other extended family members, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who he held exceptionally close to his heart.
Although our hearts will forever mourn the loss of such a wonderful man, we know he is now at peace.
In honor of Dale's final wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no services.
