Steven Anthony "Steve" Smith

Flintstone, MD- Steven "Steve" Anthony Smith, 66, of Flintstone, MD, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at his home.
Born July 25, 1959 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Paul V. Smith and Mary E. (Stamp) Smith.
Steve was a graduate of the Allegany County Vo-Tech Center, Class of 1977 and also graduated from Allegany Community College with a degree in computer science. He was a United States Navy Veteran where he served as the original crew on the USS Vincent. Steve was an employee of CSX Railroad for over 25 years. He was a member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club and also the Haystack Sportsman's Club. Steve loved spending time with his family but especially his nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart and was always there for them.
Steve is survived by his sisters: Carol Hoover and husband Mike; Melanie Young and husband Craig; and Lisa Hall; a brother: Paul Smith and wife Jenny; his nieces and nephews: Jasper, Hannah, Rob, Dan, Caleb, Taylor, Maggie, Rachel, Nick, Scarlet, and Hannah; as well as a close friend: Dan Karlowa; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Per his request, he will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
