James Edward Shaffer Sr.

James Edward Shaffer Sr., 88, of Cresaptown, joined his Heavenly Father and beloved wife, Barbara Anne, on October 27, 2025.
Born May 31st, 1937, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Toni L. and Elsie M. (Lewis) Shaffer.
He is survived by his children; Debbie Morgan and husband Jeff, Jim Shaffer Jr and wife Robin, Brian Shaffer and wife Maria, Bruce Shaffer and wife Jen; nine grandchildren, Michelle Jenkins, Brittany Sharon, Cortlyn White, Jimmy Shaffer, Cameron Shaffer, Rebecca Shaffer, William Whiteman, Raine and Storm Shaffer; five great grandchildren, Aiden and Ethan Jenkins, Chael White and Suttyn and Westyn Sharon; many nieces and nephews; brother, Glen Shaffer and wife Sheila; sister, Dora Jean Buchannan.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a strong Christian man who believed in his Lord.
He was self employed at Ajax Janitorial Service until selling his business, worked part time at BonTon for several years after and continued to keep busy afterward, working part time at Calvary Baptist Church until formal retirement in 2023.
He loved his family and enjoyed seeing and spending time with them.
He was a Life Member of Cresaptown Eagles F.O.E. 2883, and involved with many organizations over his lifetime including Frostburg Elk's Soapbox Derby, Potomac Valley Athletic Association and Cub Scouts.
Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm.
Pastor Michael Lashbaugh will lead services to be held for family and friends, at the funeral home on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11am.
Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
