MR. LARRY "Blue" LAMPLEY was born November 24, 1958 in Wayne County, MS to the union of the late Mr. Levert and Mrs. Lucille (Richey) Lampley. He worked many years at Waynesboro Co-Op until his health failed. He enjoyed playing spades and was an avid football fan. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, which was his favorite team of all time. He liked children and would cook anything they wanted. One could easily say he was a male nanny. The children he kept loved him so much, when he was ill, they would climb in the hospital bed with him just to sit.
Mr. Lampley passed away August 27, 2023 at his residence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Lamar Lampley, and three sisters: Addie Thomas, Linda Lampley, and Carrie Louise Carter. He is survived by one brother: Curtis Lampley, and two sisters: Millie Jones and Lillie Everett, in addition to several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM at New West Point Baptist Church, with Rev. John Robinson as the officiant. Interment will follow at New West Cemetery. There will be a public viewing Friday, September 8, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 PM at Turner Funeral Home.
