Larry Dale Matney

Larry Dale Matney, 61 of Panther, WV passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at his residence.
Dale was born August 28, 1962 in Iaeger, WV, a son of the late Willie (Bud) and Dorothy Justice Matney. Dale was a beloved husband, father, and friend who would give the shirt off his back to help anyone who needed it. He was the most hardworking, loving father who gave all that he could give to his wife, kids and especially his grandkids. Dale and Sandy have a love for one another that transcends time. We knew that when they saw each other again that they would never let go. They will be dancing together in Heaven.
In addition to his parents, Willie (Bud) and Dorothy Matney, Larry was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Elizabeth Matney; and two brothers, Lefty and Luther Matney.
Survivors include four daughters, Jennifer Goins of Thomasville, NC, Christina Lambeth also of Thomasville, NC, Jessica Gerwald of Panther, and Jasmine Matney also of Panther; six grandchildren, Hunter and Lillian Bailey, Bradley Myers, Jonathan Goins Jr., Jordan Goins, and Maddalyn Hurley; one sister Donna Matney; one brother, Jackie Matney; and special friends, Tammy and Dale Mullis and Michael Lambeth all of Thomasville, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday evening, January 10, 2024 at 7 o'clock with Elder Fred Bailey officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Entombment will follow Thursday, Janurary11, 2024 at 2 o'clock in the Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville, NC. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening, January 10, 2024 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
