A service to honor the life of Mrs. Laverne Thomasee Chambers will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Deacon John Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time.

 Laverne, 88 years of age and a life-long resident of Natchitoches passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 with her son by her side. She was born February 24, 1936 to Alphonse Thomasee and Eunice Gallien Thomasee.

She was preceded in death her parents, her husband Theodore Chambers, her sister Jean McConathy, and her niece Tracy McConathy.

Laverne will be dearly missed by her son, Randy Chambers (Mickey) and her granddaughter Raney Luafalemana (Roger).

Laverne loved to cook, listen to music and read the newspaper. Dancing on the weekend was her favorite thing to do. She enjoyed talking with friends about her family and everyone was welcomed at her home.

She was Dernie to her nieces that were more like daughters, Diane Strother (Barry), Mary Barrios (Jerry) and Wendy Hudson (Brance), as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Brance Hudson, Brandon Strother, Austin Niette, Jerry Barrios, Lamar Chambers and Roger Luafalemana. Honorary pallbearers are Barry Strother, Tyler Strother and Milton Adams.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Courtyard of Natchitoches for the care, love, and support. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
