Lorene was always a glass half-full sort of person. She came to me initially, as my Voice Student and shared that she had undergone a Thyroid operation. She was having some difficulty getting into her upper range for choir. Lorene would sing her scales and exercises faithfully, but nearing the top, her voice would abruptly stop, with a a glottal jerk, almost like a choking. This was due to internal scarring. It had to be uncomfortable for her, but we worked lesson after lesson, until the Vocal Chords adapted. She learned to lift her Soft Palate and rise above the constriction. In doing this her voice was set free to be it's lovely self. This determination was a hallmark of her character. She wanted to fly free in her praise and worship to God. She was a free-flyer, in her approach to life, as well. We became friends along the way and sometimes the teacher became the student. Lorene was a great believer in the standard of, "Live and let live." "Wherefore take unto you, the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." This is how she lived, this is how she walked out her faithful example, of Christ's Love. We miss you Lorene. Rest peacefully until, "that great gettin' up mornin', fare thee well, fare thee well! " It is in Jesus' Name, that I remember Lorene, our dear Sister and Friend. Amen.

What a person of worth! My heart breaks at her passing on from this life, but God loves her more. Lorene was a Voice student of mine at one time for a couple of years. She was a bright light of the most brilliant luminosity. You couldn't meet a more real, honest person. She'd do whatever she could to help or comfort. We had many heart-to-heart talks about life and love of family, friends and most importantly of God. Lorene was a deep person of solid character. In my heart she was my sister. I will sincerely miss her. She could be counted on for a hug, a piece of candy, a pat on the back and a laugh. Lorene had an innocence of heart and spirit. I love her deeply and I will mourn her for a very long time. God is the answer for losses that we feel sorrowfully. All my love and prayers for peace are with the Marable family. I will look forward to her bright smile, in Heaven.
