Lorraine Medina Cook, born to Felipe and Fidelia Medina on June 25, 1933 in the Village of Questa, New Mexico died peacefully on May 4, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Fidelia Medina, brothers Felipe and Frank, sisters Theresa and Benita, and by her husband of 65 years (Richard) who she met in Albuquerque, NM at a USO dance, and kept on dancing with him until his death in November 2020.
Lorraine is survived by her children Robert, Jeanne, Gary, Julie, and Shari; Grandchildren Stacy, Jessica, Sarah, Krista, Sean and Ryan; Great Grand-children Mariah, Nicole, Andrew, Marcus, Ezra, Zoey, and Hugo; also survived by her brothers Manuel and Felix, Sisters Evangeline, Glorianna, Patsy, and Carol, numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend Emma.
She grew up with a strong Catholic faith and helped to raise her brothers and sisters who often looked at her as a mother figure. Lorraine attended Business School in Denver, Colorado and moved back to New Mexico upon completion. She worked for Sandia National Laboratories for eleven years, followed by a career with the Folk Art Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts until her retirement in 1994.
A woman of never-ending faith, Lorraine attended mass regularly and when she could no longer attend in person she asked to attend virtually. Her strength was undeniable raising five children, and dedicating her life to her developmentally disabled daughter who she continued to pray for until her death.

I had the pleasure of having memories of my Aunt Lorraine since I was about 4 years old. Always kind and loving towards me . Made me the best pancakes ever when I used to stay with her when Uncle Dick was out of town.
Beautiful woman in every way.
Condolences and prayers to entire Cook and Medina Family.

Rest in peace my dear sister, you will be missed!! I will forever miss my phone calls, you had the best sense of humor and because of this I left our calls feeling so much better about life. Never a cross word about anyone but always had a good word to say about everyone. Always so proud of your children as you should be. I loved you then and always will!!

My beautiful loving grandma.. I will forever cherish everything you taught me, and all the love you gave to each person who was in your presence expecting nothing in return. I am at peace knowing you're with grandpa, your greatest love... I love you !
