Trujillo Family Funeral HomeGeorge Johnny Wyler, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on 10/22/2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, George lived a full life marked by service. hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved. He is now at peace in the presence of our Lord. George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for 3 years and 18 years with the Army Reserve and later dedicated 30 years to the City of Albuquerque Solid Waste Department, where his commitment and work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and community alike. He was a devoted father to Nadine Mathews and husband Mark Mathews, and to George Wyler, Jr. and his wife Esperanza Wyler. George cherished his role as grandfather to Georgie Wyler and wife Tessica, Joseph Wyler, Angelica Wyler, Ezekiel Wyler, and Cruzito Ortiz. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Exavier, Adrian, Lily, Ayda, Joseph Jr., and Princess. George is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Louie Wyler and wife Viola, Frieda Vigil and husband Ernest, and Dora Torres. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Wyler and Guadalupe " Lupe" Castillo Wyler, Siblings Liz Griego, Jeanette Sanchez, and Della Alvarado. A faithful member of the Catholic Church, George's life was guided by his strong faith, generosity, and unwavering support for family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Georgie Wyler, Joseph Wyler, Cruzito Ortiz, Santiago Chacon, Chris Casamento, and Mike Fernandez. Honorary Pallbearers include Ezekiel Wyler.
A celebration of George's life will be held at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church where family and friends will gather to honor a man who gave so much and loved so deeply. His legacy of kindness, strength, and humbleness will live on in all who knew him.
A viewing and rosary will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the chapel of Trujillo Family Funeral Home 110 Alvarado Dr SE Albuquerque, NM 87108
Funeral service will be held on November 14, 2025 at St. Therese of Infant Jesus Catholic Church 3424 4th St. NW Albuquerque, NM 87107 starting at 9:00 am.
Graveside services with full military honors will follow at 1:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery 501 N. Guadalupe Street. Santa Fe, NM 87501.
