Lorraine Anna Pedersen was born September 6, 1933, to Arthur and Beatrice (Keifer) Fischer. She grew up and attended school in Hartington, Nebraska. She married Gerald Pedersen on February 24, 1952 in Yankton, South Dakota. After their marriage Lorraine followed Gerald to Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and then Camp Kilmer, New Jersey while he served in the army. They returned to Hartington, Nebraska where Lorraine took great pride in raising her family.
Lorraine was the kind of woman who could make anyone feel welcomed with warm arms, a comforting smile, and always had a warm cup of coffee or tea ready. She truly could make anyone who walked into the room feel most at home. She not only had hands full of love and care for those who surrounded her, but Lorraine also had a hand for tending a flourishing flower garden that was awe-inspiring, a vegetable garden that gathered family and friends together for memories and countless Sunday dinners welcome to anyone who could join. She had a delicate and meticulous hand for warming those with a quilt that was "Made with Love." If there is one lesson to take away from Lorraine, it would be to always have a giving spirit and love with no bounds.
