Maria Ann Scheider

Maria Ann (Mager) Scheider, age 48, of Grantsburg, passed away unexpectedly from injuries sustained in a car accident on May 23, 2025. She was born on May 24, 1976, in Coon Rapids, MN to Matthew and Susan (Mitzel) Mager. As a kid, Maria loved spending time with her grandparents cooking, gardening, farmwork, spending time with her friends and family, and being at the cabin and beach.

She had her first daughter, Cerenity in 1992 and grew into motherhood quickly. She was in the class of 1994 and worked hard to get her high school diploma while being a young mother. She was a natural caretaker. Her son Matthew was born in 1998 and son Mikel was born in 2000. She married Jeremy Scheider on June 26, 2010. Levi was born in 2009 and Naomi was born in 2011.

She enjoyed working with children and in various restaurants. She was a beloved caretaker, mother, wife, and grandma to the end.

Maria was very proud of her sobriety for the last 1,200 days. Through her struggles, she truly found Jesus and her faith and her family's faith grew since she got sober. It made her a better mom daughter, wife, and grandma.

Survivors include her husband, Jeremy Scheider; her children, Cerenity (Jacob), Matthew (Brandi), Mikel, Levi, and Naomi; her grandchildren, Ava, an unborn baby granddaughter, and Kasen; her parents, Matt and Sue Mager; her siblings, Phil (Missy) Mitzel and William Mager; her father and mother-in-law, Bruce (Coke) Scheider; her brother-in-law, Justin (Christa) Scheider; numerous nephews and nieces; Jeremy's grandfather, LaVerne Scheider; other relatives and numerous friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oscar and Donna Mitzel and Cecil and Naomi Mager.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the family.

A Funeral Service for Maria will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in St. Croix Falls. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Grantsburg. Additional visitation will be held Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Maria will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Frederic.
