Smokes (Darlene) North Carolina.
Jermaine ("Big O") was a member of Mt. Calvary as a youngster, singing in the
choir and leading the devotion in the Youth Department as a young deacon.
He graduated from DeLand High School Class of 1994.
"Big O" enjoyed sports mainly football. He played football throughout high
school. After high school, He worked at the Duvall Home where he was
employed as a Caregiver for mentally ill patients for 15+ years, mentoring kids
throughout the community and partaking as a defensive coach at Deltona High
School.
He met the love of his life, Pauline in 2001 and was married on August 26, 2006.
He was full of laughter and always making others day a little brighter.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 21 years, Pauline Smokes
(DeLand, FL.) and his three children, Jermiria, Marion Jr., Jeremiah Smokes and
Godchildren, Javel Hankins (Shakiya),Jaliyah, Alayah Hankins (Orange City,
FL), Nytoreya Smalls, and Thailan Byron.

I knew Jermaine from 7th grade all through high school. He was one of the nicest guys!!! Heaven has sure gained a wonderful Angel! RIP old friend.

Jermaine looked after me in 9th Grade when I got hurt on the stairs out side building 4. Then throughout High School he was a steadfast friend and always positive influence. His presence will be greatly missed but I know he is in Heaven so we will meet again someday. Rest Easy Brother.
