Mary F. Kyne

Mary F. (Kelly) Kyne, age 89, of Dorchester and Braintree, died peacefully at her home on Monday December 18, 2023 surrounded by her family. Mary was the beloved wife of the late John J. Kyne; loving mother of Brenda A. Barry and her husband Vincent of Braintree, John T. Kyne and his wife Eden of Brewster, Regina K. Barry and her husband Daniel Barry of Braintree, Joseph P. Kyne and his wife Diane of Dorchester and Lisa M. Civittolo and her husband Matthew of Braintree. Devoted Nana to her 14 grandchildren, Kathryn, Erin, Matthew, Shannon, Sean, Christopher, Michael, John, Ella, Luke, Lila, Ava, Jack, Aiden and 1 great grandchild Owen. She is also survived by her siblings John Kelly of CA, Frank Kelly of Quincy, Ann Johnson of Medford and Eileen Chase of Centerville, and the late James Kelly, Katherine Ego, Margaret Kehoe and Patricia Cucinotta.
Mary and John were married on October 21, 1961 and moved to Ireland where they resided until returning to Dorchester in 1968 where they went on to raise their 5 children. Mary moved to Braintree in 2005.
Mary was an active member of the Braintree Women's club, the Braintree Catholic Women's club and the Catholic Church. She volunteered with the Marge Crispin center of Braintree and the Braintree Public Schools. In her free time she enjoyed traveling, reading, ceramics, bowling and most of all spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Mary to Saint Jude Children's Hospital.
