Michael Thomas Awbrey

Biography: Michael Thomas Awbrey, 79, went to the big beach in the sky on June 5, 2024. Born October 31, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida, Mike was preceded in death by his true love, Linda Ayers Awbrey; parents, Evelyn and James "Buster" Awbrey and beloved in-laws, Moses and Billie Jean Ayers. Left to cherish his memory is his pride, joy and whole heart – daughter Aimee Suzon Awbrey, son Bradley Michael Awbrey, daughter-in-law Stacy Bush Awbrey and grandchildren, Brandon Michael Awbrey, Kinsley Ayers Awbrey and Brady Randall Awbrey.
Mike lived life to the fullest, graduating high school twice in 1962. In 1965, he was drafted and inducted as a private recruit. He was eventually named Platoon Leader in Vietnam. He was a highly decorated officer in the United States Army. Among his many awards, he received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. After completing his military service, Mike graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree of science and business administration. He then returned to active duty as a Captain. After taking a position with Michelin Tire Company, his family moved to Arkansas. He completed his career at Bale Chevrolet in 2014, after several decades as a top salesman.
After retirement, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, music, horses, and the Alabama Crimson Tide! You could often find Mike on the patio at Stickyz Chicken Shack loving life!
