Dad was always there to listen, he and Mom helped raise me since the 70's with Mom and since the 80's with Dad. They had such a close loving friendship. I miss how he was so understanding yet so stern.

When I was a young public defender and Mike Platt was a judge, he always treated me diplomatically, respectfully, even cordially. I knew when I went to Mike Platt's department that my clients and I would both be treated fairly and equitably. He was a good judge. During his career as a defense attorney he was a tireless advocate for his clients, I know because I worked with him on a few co-defendant cases. He was highly regarded in the criminal defense bar. Deepest condolences to his family. Sincerely, Paul Schultz

Mike and I were D.A´s together, judges together, and friends throughout the years. Mike´s service to his country defined Mike. Mike was a man of courage that loved his family and country and would defend both without hesitation. Mike was always willing to come to the aid of others, even when it was to his detriment. My husband and I send our thoughts and prayers to Mike´s family as well as our gratitude for his service to his country and community. Connie Callahan

So sorry to hear about Mike. I was very fond of him- great attorney, great judge, great and proud father. At the DA's Office one late evening he and I were at the copy machine when he commented on the beautiful color of my very bright jacket--teal blue-green. He said although he was colorblind, it was one of the few colors he could see (or sense). May God bless his soul and the Platt family.

I knew Mike for almost 40 years. He was a class act--an excellent attorney and a man who served his country with great distinction in Vietnam. Many are saddened to hear of of his passing. Our sympathies are with his family in this difficult time.
