Fort Valley, GA – Millie Heath Emerson, 91, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, peacefully at her residence. Services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10:00 am at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory with interment immediately following at Parkway Memorial Gardens. The visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, January 13, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Reverend Jay Lauritsen will be officiating the services.
Millie was born on December 22, 1931, in Jacksonville, GA to the late Miller Lee Heath, Sr. and Eula (Mixon) Heath. She worked as a supply clerk for Robins Air Force Base for many years before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, watching the Falcons, Braves, and WWE and of course the Georgia Bulldogs! Millie's favorite hobby, however, was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy L. Emerson and her son, Robert Emerson along with 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Left to cherish her memory is her granddaughter: Rebecca Marcy (Robert) and their children Lexie Cowan, Trenton Cowan, Grant Cowan, and Connor Marcy; daughter: Malindie Minshew (John); daughter-in-law: Darcy Emerson; grandchildren: Josh Emerson, Justin Emerson, and Matt Hancock (Brooke); great-grandchildren: Jayden Emerson, Matt Howard, and Cody Howard; brother: Miller Heath; and sister: Margie Nell Bennett.
