Nancy Louise Loftis, 82 of Cookeville, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Nancy was born Wednesday, September 20, 1939 in Cookeville, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of the late Edley Dennis Smith and the late Myrtle (Hawkins) Smith Young.
Nancy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nana, aunt, and friend. She loved gardening, camping, canning, and spending time with her family and friends on the back porch. She was often times referred to as the "Boss Lady". She attended Smyrna Church of Christ for many years. Nancy was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Nancy is survived by, Husband of 67 years, Colonel Loftis; 2 Daughters, Donna and Randall Smith, and Sharon and John Peck; 5 Grandchildren, Brandy and David Dillon, Krystal and Thomas Perrigue, Jacob and Jessica Smith, Jarod Smith, and Trey and Kayla Peck; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Zach Dillon, Erica Dillon, Hunter Peck, Tyler Nicole Peck, Jaxon Smith, and Landon Perrigue. Great-Great-Grandson On The Way, Charlie; 2 Sisters, Jimmie Weems, and Carolyn and Carl Jones; Brother-In-Law, James Kinniard; Special Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by, Infant Son, James Howard Loftis; 2 Brothers, Grady and Demas Smith; 6 Sisters, Ada, Pauline, Gladys, Hallie, Peggy, and Francis; Father and Mother In Law, Landon and Ova Loftis; 2 Brothers-In-Law, Benton and Winona Loftis, and Bobby Loftis.
Funeral Service for Nancy Louise Loftis will be held Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. James Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again, Sunday July 3, 2022 from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
