Paul David Hartsel, 74
Paul David Hartsel, 74 of Ashland passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
He was born on October 15, 1948 in Bellevue, Ohio, the son of the late Paul Burton Michaels and Ruth Eileen Walden.
Dave graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1966. Following high school, he furthered his education and attended the Ohio State University in Mansfield, Ohio.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Dave retired after more from WIL Research Laboratories in 2010 where he was an assistant chemist.
He was a devoted member of the Church of Christ; and was previously a member of Park Street Brethren Church. Throughout his life, he enjoyed science fiction, astronomy, fishing, and vegetable gardening. Dave was always well read and cherished collecting books.
He is survived by one daughter, Heather Hartsel; one son, Sean Hartsel; two grandchildren, Leila and Alex Martin; two sisters, Kelly Vise of Painesville and Holly (Chip) Chew of Longwood, Florida; and three brothers, Steven Hartsel of Columbus, Joseph (Georgiana) Hartsel of Miramar Beach, Florida and Andrew (Charity) Hartsel of Willow Springs, Missouri.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 27th 2023 at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ with Pastor Tim Nowlin presiding.
For those unable to attend, online condolences may be shared on the funeral home's website at denbowfh.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ashland Church of Christ, Missionary Fund.
