Ravanna Turner Bey Sr. was born on February 23, 1956 in Toledo Ohio to the union of the late Walter and Nancy Turney Bey. He passed from this life May 22, 2024 at the age of 68, after 26 years on dialysis, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and son Lavar Turner Bey.
For 45 years, he was married to the love of his life Delise. From that union, they had three sons. Ravanna Jr, Tamar, and Lavar Bey. He also raised his godson Talbert (nickname Pooter) Belcher.
He was baptized by the late Reverend J.L. Jordan Sr. of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. In his last days he was attending The Church of All Nations under the leadership of Bishop Abdul Nabie.
After attending Scott High School, Ravanna earned his commercial drivers license (CDL) and transported lifestyle necessities to residential homes for WIC. Later in life, his primary job was caring for his family and enjoying the occasional sci-fi television show, being with his grandkids who called him Paw Paw, and summer trips to an Erie Island cabin.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend. He leaves to cherish his wife Delise, sons Ravanna Jr and Tamar (Kimberly), siblings Brenda Powell, Nila Ussery (Jerome) and Tana Turner Bey. Three grandsons Ravanna Ill, Kamar, and Kendrick. Four granddaughters, Lanise, Tamaria, Talonna, Takeya, and one great granddaughter Lelani.
