Raymond H. Gonzales
June 26, 1941 – October 15, 2022
Raymond H. Gonzales passed away on October 15, 2022, in Elmendorf, Texas. He was born to Herminia Hernandez and Jose Maria Gonzales on June 26, 1941, in Floresville, Texas. He retired from Kelly Air Force Base-ALC/LDCQ, TX, on April 1, 1999, after 30 years of Federal Civilian Service. Dad grew up a farmer's son. They grew and harvested corn, cotton and hay. He eventually would leave the farm and also worked at the Elmendorf Brick Factory, Saspamco Pipe Factory, and CPS.
Our dad really loved family and enjoy his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and loved gathering with the family on holidays, birthdays and numerous special occasions. He was very passionate about the game of golf and was a fierce competitor while playing on company tournaments. He absolutely loved conjunto music and was known to collect a few Cadillacs. We as his family are so grateful to God for our dad's life. Thank you dad for all of your support and all of the life lessons and advice. We all love you and will miss you immensely. So Dad, go now and be with God.
He is preceded in death by his son Rogelio Carlos Gonzales, former wife Linda P. Arrambide, Mother Herminia Hernandez Gonzales, Father Jose Maria Gonzales, Aunt Julia Gonzales and Uncle Jesus Gonzales, paternal Grandparents Ventura Gonzalez and Josefa Carranza Gonzales, infant Brother Henry B. Gonzales, and Sister Angelita (Helen) Lopez.
He is survived by his loving children Melissa Ann and Andrew Rodriguez (H), Raymond Jr. and Kathy Gonzales (W), Daughter in Law Sonia Gonzales, six Grandchildren: Jessica, Roxanne, Brianna, Rogie, Brittany, Sierra, and nine Great Grandchildren: Cayla, Melynda, Richie, AndiLynn, Jayce, Jaden, Adrian, Alekzander, and Sevryn; and five siblings: Margaret of San Antonio, Reynaldo of Dallas, Yolanda of San Antonio, Joe of Kirby, and Delia of San Antonio.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., we will meet at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South to begin the procession. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Elmendorf, TX. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
