Charles A. Clay
October 6, 1956 – October 26, 2025
Charles A. Clay was born on October 6, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, to J.C. and Ruby Clay. He passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 69.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathleen Clay; his daughter, Shellie Clay; his son, Tyler Clay; his brothers, Jesse Clay and wife Margaret, and John Clay and wife Cindy; his cherished grandson, Trey Cameron; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
Known to most as Charlie, he was a man whose strength, kindness, and unwavering love left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His warm smile, contagious laughter, and easygoing charm could light up any room. A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Charlie always put others before himself and faced life with a quiet determination and a generous heart.
Charlie was the proud owner of an AAMCO Transmission franchise in San Antonio, where he dedicated his career to serving his community. He had a lifelong passion for working on vehicles, building race cars, and sharing that love with those around him. When he wasn't under the hood of a car, you could find him outdoors-hunting, fishing, hiking, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Grand Brook Memory Care of New Braunfels, especially Nichole Finto; Woodcrest Home for Senior Citizens, especially Velma, Olga, Lindsey, Apple, and Helen; and Aasta Hospice, especially Raul, Latoya, and Edna, for their exceptional care, kindness, and support.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Dellcrest Funeral Home. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlie's honor to Alzheimer's research at www.alz.org. To share memories or express condolences, please sign the guestbook at www.missionparks.com.
