Helen "Renee" Williams Whitt, 61 of Glen Lyn, Virginia departed this life on December 26, 2022 at her home. Born on February 6, 1961 in Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Kenneth Williams and Helen Geraldine Meredith Williams.
Renee loved her family. She has served as custodian for both the Newport Recreational Center and Sherry Memorial Christian Church. She enjoyed merkle hunting with her family; making all things beautiful with flowers; and loving on her cats.
In addition to her parents, Renee is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Southern; brother-in-laws, Phillip Dale Southern, Tommy Whitt, and Steven Whitt; father-in-law, Billy Whitt; and special friends, Christine Epperley and Jeanie Williams.
Left to cherish her memory to their hearts are her husband, Dewey Whitt; stepchildren, Russell Whitt (Misty Mabe) of Narrows, and April Shelton (Ivan) of Radford; grandchildren, Ivan Shleton III, Josiah Shelton, Isabella Shelton, Trevor Whitt, and Kaylee Whitt; sisters, Peggy Williams of Newport, and Trina Williams of Radford, mother-in-law, Geraldine Whitt, sister-in-law, Velvet Cole (Stacey), brothers-in-law, Billy Whitt Jr (Sarah), and Roger Whitt (Debra); and special friends, Debra Harvey, Pam and Ramu Anandakrishman, and Diane Revere.
There will be a funeral service conducted on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Funeral services will conclude in the Newport Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home on Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A guestbook is available to send condolences by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the Whitt family.
