Richard Lane Dean, 64, of Burnsville, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his home.
He was born June 11, 1959 in Hot Springs, a son of the late Norval Geharlinton and Edna Jane (Caracofe) Dean.
On November 14, 1986 he married Rebecca “Becky” Joan Roberts.
One who loved the outdoors, Richard enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. Richard was a truck driver for various companies until his health no longer allowed. He loved his dogs, Cash and Chloe, who were always with him. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 37 years, he is survived by his children, Shannon Dean, Jodi Rucker and Charles Rucker, all of Burnsville and Carl Tucker and wife, Crystal of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Eli, Braelyn, Cami and Jacob McCulley, Hadleigh Rucker, Sean and Alexandria Tucker, and Allison and Alayna Micko; sister, Crystal Robertson and husband, Jeff of Hot Springs; brothers, Paul Dean and wife, Julie and James Dean, all of Hot Springs; as well as nieces and nephews, Brittany Webb, Atley Robertson and wife, Bethany, Clinton Robertson, Dalton Knight and Austin Dean.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastor Wayne Dean officiating.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Richard Dean Memorial Fund, to offset final expenses, c/o Blue Grass Valley Bank, PO Box 516, Monterey, Va. 24465.
