Our beloved Richard Anthony Garrett, age 64, passed away on March 21, 2023 in Dalton, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Georgia Garrett of Cohutta; brother, James Garrett, Jr.
He is survived by his loyal dog, Angus; sister, Elizabeth Slaughter; brothers, Rick (Phyllis) Garrett, and Randall (Lucia) Garrett; aunt, Irene (Claude) Chapman. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Richard was born in Dalton, Ga, grew up in Cohutta, Ga. and worked many years at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, Ga.
Richard's love for his family and his dog was immeasurable. He was a devoted brother and uncle, his kindness and generosity will be greatly missed by all. Richard had a contagious laugh and always had a smile on his face. He will be remembered for his positive outlook on life and his willingness to lend a helping hand.
A memorial service will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 4004 Airport Road SE in Dalton, Ga on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to NW Ga Humane Society.
