Louise Stella Garner

Louise Stella Garner, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, passed peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Ridgewood Manor Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Chatsworth, Georgia on December 8, 1943, to Richard and Beatrice Overby, Stella lived a life full of warmth, grit, and grace.
A true country soul, Stella found joy in the simple things, dancing, laughing under the sun and rain, watching scary movies with wide-eyed delight, and singing along to her favorite country tunes. She was down-to-earth, generous to a fault, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Her strength was quiet but fierce; she was a fighter in every sense of the word.
Stella's legacy lives on through her children: son, Bobby Garner; daughters, Rebecca Hayes and Tina Garner; five grandchildren, Jennifer Contreras, Natasha Maximo, Kendra Negrete-Hayes, Brandon Garner, and Chelsea Garner; and fourteen great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward with love and pride.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 3:00 to 4:00 PM prior to the service. Stella will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery, surrounded by the beauty and peace she so deeply appreciated.
Her laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering love will echo in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, dancing among the stars.
