Teresa Darnell, age 70, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Regency Park. Born on October 28, 1954, in Whitfield County, she was the beloved daughter of the late Billy Croy and Jeanette Ledford Croy.
Teresa dedicated much of her life to education, serving as a substitute teacher in the Whitfield County School System, where she touched the lives of countless students with her warmth and patience. She was a devoted wife to William "Bill" Darnell and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Her passions included arts and crafts, camping in the mountains, and spending time with her cherished dogs-Hoot, Kip, Lexi, and Muci. Above all, Teresa adored her granddaughter and found joy in every moment they shared.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Darnell; sons Brent Darnell (Laura) and Brandon Darnell (Diana); granddaughter Bryanna Darnell; brother Phillip Croy (Jancie); sister Karen Croy; 2 very special aunts and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Dalton Funeral Home, with Reverend Randy Postell and Reverend Robert Gillean officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Teresa will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery.
