Barbara Ann Darnell, 83, of Waterville, Ohio passed away October 5, 2025. She was born March 5, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to the late John Dixon and Irene (McLeod) Dixon. She married Michael Darnell on March 14, 1986 and he preceded her in death.
Barb was a 1960 graduate of Anthony Wayne High School. She enjoyed having lunch and spending time with her high school classmates. She also enjoyed spending time and having lunch with her neighborhood girlfriends. She loved to read, and dance.
She is survived by her children Roderick (Lisa) Swinehart of Jerry City, Ohio and Julie Drake of Jackson, Kentucky, brother John (Megan) Dixon of Toledo, Ohio, sisters Kathryn (James) Linke of Maumee, Ohio, Sandra (James) Preste of Lakeville, Minnesota, Bonnie Nagel of Toledo, Ohio, Yvonne Craver of Washington, D.C., and brother-in-law Gary Williams of Las Vegas, Nevada, 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, John and step-mother Nora Dixon, husband Michael, daughter, Jenell Swinehart, sister Bevery Williams and brothers-in-law Richard Nagel and Mark Craver.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 11:00 a.m., until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Road, Waterville, Ohio 43566. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Honor Flight For Veterans.
