Terry Brown Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home - Tontogany Chapel on Oct. 15, 2025.
Terry Lee Brown, 76, of Wayne, Ohio passed away October 13, 2025. He was born May 30, 1949 to the late Clarence and Louise (Bahnsen) Brown. He married Jennifer Proudfoot on July 1, 1972 and she survives.
Terry served his country proudly in the United States Army 25th Infantry 65th Engineers in Chi Chi. He was a lifetime member of the Bradner American Legion, BG VFW, BG AMVETS and DAV in Findlay. He had a deep love for the outdoors -gardening, fishing, hunting, and even frogging. He was known to jump into a ditch in his dress clothes just to catch a snapping turtle- he never passed up a good adventure.
A long time jokester, he had a gift for laughter and loved to share it with everyone around him. Whether he was riding his golf cart all over Wood County or swapping stories with friends, he lived life with joy and humor.
But above all, he was proudest of his family and friends.
Along with his wife of 53 years, Jennifer, Terry is survived by his daughters Tonya Gump, Laura (Tim) McCartney and Terri (Don) Merritt, sister Ruth Sensabaugh, grandchildren Anthony, Amber, Amanda, Joshua, Derek, Seth, Kyle, Christopher, Dalton, Taylor and Devin, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces and 5 nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Clarence Brown Jr., Donald Brown, Darlene McDonald and Shirley Herman, granddaughter Jamie Gump, son-in-law Douglas Gump, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
Visitation will be held on Friday October 17, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 18620 Washington St. Tontogany, Ohio 43565. Full military honors will be rendered. A luncheon will be held for friends to gather at the Eagles in Bowling Green, Ohio following the service.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Ohioans Hospice.
