Matthew Thomas Obituary

He graduated from Anthony Wayne High School in 1989 and went on to earn his associate degree in applied business-agriculture from Northwest Technical School in Archbold, Ohio.
Farming was not just Matthew's profession-it was his passion and his identity. He dedicated his life to the land, working as a farmer with deep pride and commitment. A proud member of the FFA and 4-H organizations, Matthew was known for his strong work ethic, agricultural knowledge, and love for farming.
Beyond the fields, Matthew was a true family man. He was deeply devoted to his family and especially cherished the time spent with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Known for his outgoing personality, he brought laughter to every gathering. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Matthew is survived by his mother Frances Thomas, siblings Jeannette (Gene) Barney of Whitehouse, Ohio, LeAnna (Tony) DiFeterici of Grand Rapids, Ohio, Martha (James) Schone of Gladstone, Michigan, nieces and nephews, Joshua (Amanda) Barney, Jessica (Tom) Schuette, Courtney (Tyler) Iwinski, Kathryn (Justin) Barndt, Taylor (Dylan) Debelak, Joseph DiFeterici, Emma DiFeterici, Tia Schone, great-nieces and nephews, Zachary, Arya, Ava, Trevor, Maverick, and Theodore.
He was preceded in death by his father M. Gary Thomas and brother James Andrew Thomas.
A visitation for Matthew will be held on Thursday October 2, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home located at 6603 Providence St. Whitehouse, Ohio 43571. His funeral service will be held on Friday October 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Whitehouse funeral home. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Waterville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that donations may be given to the Transplant House of Cleveland; TransplanthouseofCleveland.org - ways to help button or Lifebanc. Lifebanc.org - Green give button at top right.
