Robert Graham

Robert "Red" Graham, age 86, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.
Red was born on May 24, 1936, at Selfridge Field Air Base in Harrison Twp., MI, to the late Earl and Olivia (DeMuri) Graham. He graduated from Crystal Falls High School in 1954, served in the National Guard, and on June 28, 1958, he married Muriel "Murt" Niemi at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls, MI.
An expert mechanic, Red worked many years for the city of Crystal Falls retiring in 1995. Red, a self - proclaimed "Jack of all trades and a Master of None" was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed playing softball and officiating high school sports. He was proud to have served as a fireman with the Crystal Falls Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years. Red was honored to have been the Race Team Captain with the Department for many of those years. A long-time member of the Crystal Falls Lions Club, he enjoyed playing in the Lions Club band. He was a recipient of the Lion's Club International Melvin Jones Fellowship award. Red enjoyed outdoor activities including snowmobiling, ice fishing, and deer hunting. He took great pleasure in entertaining visitors at camp with his hospitality and jokes. After retiring Red and Murt enjoyed many years wintering in Texas. Red was a proud father and grandfather.
Red is survived by his wife of 64 years, Muriel "Murt" Graham; 5 children, Sally Graham of Green Bay, WI, Bob (Julie) Graham of Coral, MI, Sheree Graham (Dave) of Abrams, WI, Randy Graham (Kris) of Green Bay, WI, and Ron (Shyela) Graham of Salem, OR; 2 sisters-in-law, Susan Niemi and Mary Graham; and 9 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Brian, and a brother, Dennis Graham.
Per Red's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Crystal Falls Fire Department or the Crystal Falls Lions Club.
